That one quote sums up nicely, how we work here. If all else fails, do something.

I have 35 years business experience, almost all of it involving Time Management in some form or another. I have about 3 months experience doing business on the Internet. On one hand it’s a different world, on the other, people are still people. I have a lot of reasons for wanting to work through the Internet. Reach is one of them. From my little office in the middle of a farmers field, ( okay, I live in the country, on a dirt road, SURROUNDED by farmers fields ) , the point is, I can now reach particularly any where in the world anyone with a computer. That’s exciting on a lot of levels.

I’m looking forward to broadening my reach and meeting a lot of new and diverse people from a lot of countries I would not normally of had the opportunity to reach and meet. I have thought about getting a site for awhile now and have spent a great deal of time working on this project. Along the way I have had the input of a great deal of “ experts “ dealing with the Internet and doing business out “ there “. I’ve learned a tremendous amount and expect to learn more. I’ve listed below how we hope to work with our new clients, customers, visitors

The details listed below are not in any particular order. In a way, this is the start of our Internet Mission Statement. What we are trying to do and how we are going to work with our clients, customers, visitors, pretty well anyone who comes on to the site.

      A Meeting of The Minds

If nothing else, if we can get you thinking about how you invest your time, then we have accomplished something. I use the word invest because that is exactly what you do when you use up your time. You spend a certain amount of time and you should want a return on your investment. Perhaps that fact, looking at spending time as an investment has you looking at time in a different light. That could be a start in having you rethink and examine how you use your time and what kind of results you are getting.

I have a very specific and in some peoples opinions, a very “ unique way “ ( that’s the nice translation ) of dealing with time. We tackle time and productivity head on, they are crucial to anyone’s success and if we can get you asking questions, re-evaluating and looking at your time in a different light, then that is a great start.

Part of this process is to get you to know us, get to see how we deal with these crucial issues and for you to see if you want to spend more time looking at the open material on the site and eventually deciding that what and how we say it makes sense to you. We expect to be here for a long time, will be adding a lot more material and expanding our line of topics. Pardon the pun but we don’t want you wasting your time on a Time Management site if you don’t feel comfortable with us. I have a particular insight into time and all of its ramifications and we will both get the best results if we can feel comfortable with the intent and flavour of the site.

Be sure to express your views to us about what you see and read, your input is important for us to see as well as the other people visiting the site. We will be publishing your comments( with your approval of course ) and hope to open up the dialogue between ourselves and everyone who wants to participate in our discussions.

  Dissenting Opinions

 I believe strongly in what we have to say about Time Management . My beliefs and position on issues regarding time are backed up with 35 plus years in the field. Does this make me right? That is for you to determine. Part of out philosophy here will be to present the widest possible range of opinions on the topics we will be covering here. I believe by doing this, we can better accomplish our goal, having you lead a fuller, happier and more successful life by a better and more productive use of your time. We firmly believe that the only way to get the most out of your life, to reap your maximum   potential is through optimum use of your time.

How to go about achieving that goal, is up for debate. We will be making those opposing views known and allowing you to determine what is best for you.

  Practice Makes It Perfect

 Some people say I go over board some time, actually they say I go over board most of the time. Every body is entitled to there opinion, even when its wrong ! They are referring to my habit of hammering away at the points and ideas that I feel are important, even when the audiences is on my side. What you will see on this site is my/ our perspective on Time Management and its related topics. We feel very strongly about the impact of Time Management and even more strongly about certain aspects of this very large all encompassing topic. One way you will get to see where and what is important is how often we deal with certain aspects of a topic. Lets take Prioritizing for an example. This concept is crucial to your success, success at anything, it does not matter, without Prioritizing, you will be lost, period. How’s that for arrogance!

     My point is, the more you see something here, the more weight and importance we put on it. We cover ALL of the topics in the Power Time System, and then we cover them again in our articles, essays, case studies Power Shots, Turbo Charger, Tip of The Week. If we don’t feel we have covered them enough, we go out and find OTHER peoples articles, essays on the SAME topic and put them on our site, just for you.

      Practice makes perfect. We are here to sell you on adopting Time Management as a way for you to get more out of life , be happier and to reach what you consider to be success, by your standards, not anyone’s else’s.

      One last point here. We don’t try to sanitize or homogenize things here. You will find 4 articles around the site, all about one topic. All written by myself, all about the same topic, stretching over 5 , 7 10 years maybe longer apart. They will all have the same theme, intent , but will probably have a different slant, a different perspective, a different balance. They will all show the evolutionary stages of where we have come from and where we are going with Time Management . I believe this aspect of what we have to offer makes what we have to say even more relevant.

  Dissenting Points Of View

I’m not a censor nor do I want to be. You will find dissenting points of views on this site and we welcome them. We have links to pages that flat out say what we do is wrong, misleading, inaccurate, criticisms from all angles. This makes for a free flow of ideas and approaches, all part of the learning and engaging process. I’m proud to be part of the process and in a lot of cases, leading the charge.

 We also print articles, essays, input from all kinds of sources that deal with there perspective on a wide range of topics, all inter related and connected to Time Management . They are clearly marked as to there source, most clearly marked NOT to be part of the Power Time System or input from me/ us here. The rest is all fair game. We NEVER edit, touch up, omit, add anything to any one else’s submissions here.

 I hope you enjoy having access to this diverse material and find there inclusion here beneficial on your Time Management journey.

 Who Writes This Material

Unless other wise clearly denoted, ALL of the material on this site is written by me, Bryan Beckstead, Founder and Creator of the Power Time System. When I refer to   “ I “, I’m referring to myself.

 Content is King 

That pretty well sums up the feelings of most of the people who we have talked to about getting set up on the Internet. I agree. I want my site to become the site you want to come to get information about Time Management and all the related topics dealing with this issue. We are starting with what we consider a fair amount of free content, compared to most sites, we have more than the average amount. We look at this as simply the starting point. Over the next months and years for that matter, we will continue to increase our data, relevant material that we feel deals with Time Management and all of its related topics.

In real time, it’s February 4 the, 2009, our site is in the construction stage, hopefully will be open and running by the end of this month. Not including the actual Power Time System, the rest of the content on the page consists of approximately 2,000 pages of real content. What I mean by this is, this is material we have either written here or viewed and are happy with the content, quality and suitability to be on our page. ( As an aside, we do have material on our site that is in direct opposition to what we feel is “ proper “ Time Management techniques, but because the quality, the research, the skill in which the views are expressed, it should be heard and we are happy to have this material on our site. It’s not my place or role to edit what you should see and not see. I want to have the most complete library on Time Management available to you, period. If that means putting up someone’s else’s views that are contrary to mine, that’s fine with me. Look at there views and then look at mine, if you better yourself and your life by being able to see both points of views, that’s what learning, reaching exploring and making yourself better is all about.)

I’m proud of the current content we have and will be even prouder as we ad more and more. The content that is clearly denoted as excerpts from the PTS ( Power Time System ) have been chosen to give you a view or flavour of what we are all about. By reviewing the content, which is free and does not     require  you to login in to view , you will get a good feel if you wish to work with us. By using exact sections of the PTS, in our free content section, you can decide if what and how we say it , is something you want to waste your time on. After all, this is a site where we deal with time issues.

Spend as much time as you like viewing and reading our documents. They are heavy content pages, there is a lot of material in them, they are suppose to be that way. We view the issue of Time Management as one that has a profound impact on peoples lives, sometimes that impact is positive and a lot of times it is not. I believe the way we have covered this critically important topic requires the weight of material we have available, in our free content as well as in our PTS. I hope you enjoy viewing our material, but most importantly, I hope you benefit in a positive way from something we have made available to you.

  Current

I’m amazed at the number of web sites that I have visited over the years where the site is outdated and clearly not been serviced or maintained by the owners. Why bother is my response. I / we intend to maintain our site in an orderly and most importantly, up-to-date fashion. We will be encouraging and soliciting input from other sources on our related topics. This input will be changed on a weekly and monthly basis. There will always be new and current content for you to view on our site. Of course, your views and input as to how we can improve our site and make it more informative and relative to you is always welcome.

     Planting the Seed

This isn’t the best wording I could use but it will do for now. I want to introduce as many people to the benefits of Time Management as well as increased Productivity ( see below comments on Productivity )

Part of that process is to give you access to as much information on these topics to get you interested and motivated enough to get you going on your own personal journey . If we can play that role, that will be one of the purposes of our site. If one article, one essay, something you find on our site triggers action on your part, we have accomplished something. Much of the material on our site is material we give in our seminars. Word for word, examples, case studies, material we have been giving out over the years. The response has been the same. Your seminar was great …. But the bit about …… really hit home. It’s that one bit of information that really sinks home that can make all the difference between making a difference or ending up on a shelf somewhere.

If we can be the people that plant the seed, the seed that your water and nourish, the seed that grows up and makes your life, happier, more productive, less stressful, then we have accomplished our goal.

Let me explain.

Let's go way back, way, way back to ... 1979

I was just starting out in the Lawn Care Industry, had bought a small business with 300 customers and a single truck grossing $8,000.00 per year. I turned that single-truck business into a Canada-wide 119 franchise organization generating $20,000,000 million in sales in less than 5 years.

Here is how I did it.

At that time, my competitors were selling a 5-step lawn care program for 119.00. They were running bloated organizations, had no real competition, were making massive margins and had no reason to pass on savings to their customers because there were no viable alternatives in the marketplace.

They were ripe for the pickings.

I started selling my 5-step lawn care program for $49.95. I used my bulk buying power, trimmed my costs, reduced my overhead, used word of mouth advertising and, most importantly, realized I was in a large volume, low margin business and used that to my advantage.

I learned way back then that if you treated your customer fairly, gave them a product or service that they needed, at a great price, they would respond by buying your product and most importantly, would be your best salespeople. I never forgot that lesson.

Let's fast forward, way forward ... to 2009
